UDUMO in a nutshell

The UDUMO projects, spearheaded by the Choral Celebration Network Foundation (CCNF), are transformative initiatives dedicated to nurturing and promoting choral music within diverse communities across South Africa. These projects are built around UDUMO, an enriching and revolutionary concept of choral collaboration that leverages experiential learning to mentor, network, share, grow, and develop conductors and singers.

Central to UDUMO is the focus on choral education and the development of choirs across all nine provinces of South Africa. Participants in these projects engage in a dynamic process that culminates in performing together in mass choirs at spectacular gala concerts. The projects provide vital resources, training, and platforms for both emerging and established choirs and conductors, helping to cultivate talent and ensure the growth of choral music.

Aligned with CCNF's mission, the UDUMO projects aim to foster cross-cultural connections, enhance musical education, and offer opportunities for youth and adult choirs to thrive. Choristers participating in future UDUMOs will have the unique opportunity to work with some of the world's best conductors, returning to their communities re-energized through fun, sharing, and a brilliant performance experience. By building a sustainable choral ecosystem, these initiatives play a crucial role in expanding the reach and impact of choral music, empowering communities, and preserving South Africa's rich musical heritage.
