Choral Celebration Network Foundation NPC . 2022 All Rights Reserved

Dear Choral Celebration Network Foundation Event and Choral Celebration Festival supporter:

South Africa’s POPIA legislation (Protection of Personal Information) came into effect on 30 June 2021. The implication for us (and our audience members) is very simple – posting any picture or video of a performer on stage is illegal without that performer’s explicit permission. CCNF goes to great lengths to obtain the necessary permissions from choir members to enable us to broadcast the concerts on our YouTube channel. In some cases, permission is denied and then we cannot and do not record those choirs and do not broadcast them. Audience members that make cellphone recordings of choirs and post those recordings on social media are breaking the law and leaving themselves open to legal action against them. CCNF reserves to right to take legal action against transgressors where and when we are made aware of such social media postings.
